Meet the team
Jason is the Managing Director at Orion LPS Ltd and former President of Atlas the nationally recognised federation for the lightning protection industry. Qualifying from Construction College in 1983, he worked within the industry as a steeplejack and lightning conductor engineer for 13 years working on various sites including Nelsons Column, Battersea Power Station and Windsor Castle. After this he took a supervisory position with the largest company in the UK and following several years as a supervisor, a successful managerial career followed. Then in 2003, Jason became the Managing Director of Orion LPS, where he still works today.
Jason is a passionate supporter of the industry and was elected to the ATLAS council in 2007 and then to President in 2015. Jason enjoys playing golf, watching sport and spending time with his wife and family.
Joanne is a shareholder and the Office Manager at Orion LPS Ltd. Joanne has worked alongside Jason since the day the company started and has over 15 years of experience within the company. Currently Joanne looks after Orion’s accounts, creating invoices, credit checking, chasing, as well as managing the office. You can often find Joanne at the gym or on a hike. She also enjoys spending her time with her two daughters and catching up with friends.
Jasmine completed her work experience with Orion whilst in high school and showed great interest in Lightning Protection. Starting her employment in sales 2 years ago, she quickly understood how the company ran and completed her business and human resources diplomas which allowed her to take a position within the Human Resources department. Jasmine enjoys reading, watching football, and exercising in her spare time, as well as spending time with her significant other and family.
Thomas is accredited to the current British Standard (BS EN 62305: Protection against lightning) with a distinction. Thomas has worked within the industry ever since he left secondary school and has been working for Orion LP Ltd for over 10 years. Thomas has designed systems and protected various sites all over the UK including Royal College of Music, Hastings Town Hall and Portsmouth Royal Theatre and has a thorough knowledge of Isolated Systems following training with DEHN, one of the world’s leading lightning component suppliers.
Thomas enjoys playing in his band, as well as spending time with his partner outside of work.
Joe Peter Cudal
Joe has been in the lightning protection and specialist earthing industry for more than 10 years and has designed systems for clients ranging from Thames Water to UKPN, and including buildings with grade 1 listed status. Joe started as an assistant estimator but quickly climbed the career ladder when his unstoppable thirst for work and technical knowledge got him noticed and he was soon promoted to the post of estimator and designer. Joe has also achieved one of the highest pass rates in the UK when sitting his part 1-4 accreditation to the British Standard (BS EN 62305: Protection against lightning), gaining a distinction in the process.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys playing computer games, watching films, and spending time with his wife.
Tom started at Orion as an trainee estimator, but quickly showed great leadership skills. Because of this, in August 2018, Tom was offered the position of Operations Manager. Tom has previous experience of roofing and has completed an NVQ level 3 diploma in electrical installations. When Tom is not at work, he enjoys watching football, going to watch live music and socialising with friends, family and his fiancé.
Lisa started at Orion in 2014 as a part-time estimating assistant. After finding great potential in Lisa she was offered a contracted position within the Operations department. We quickly caught on to her fantastic eye for detail and problem solving, and offered Lisa the position of Test Division Manager. Outside of work Lisa enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a volunteer for a local family support program.
David has been in the lightning protection industry for 14 years after finding interest in the field from his brother and father.
He has worked on large contracts for Orion such as Beddington water treatments works, installing specialist earthing, as well as testing multiple sites for Enisca Browne up and down the UK.
David started working for Orion as a Sub-Contractor and was then asked to open our Northern office after seeing David’s fantastic work.
He enjoys photography in his spare time as well as training for half marathons.
